We stayed at the Ocean Palace Hotel on our second trip to Jeju. We chose this hotel for its convenient location in the southern Jeju city of Seogwipo. We had a rental car. The drive from Jeju International airport was around 90 mins. It will take approximately 2 hours by bus.
The Ocean Palace Hotel is near scenic attractions like the Jeongbang Waterfalls, Oedolgae Rock, Jusangjeolli Cliff, Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market, etc. We stayed here for 3 nights and used this as our base to visit the southern part of Jeju.
There is a choice of Oriental or European style rooms. We booked the European Family Twin room with breakfast for US$110 per room/night. Although the hotel looks dated on the outside, the rooms have a modern feel. It is spacious and spotlessly clean. I understand that the rooms have recently been refurbished. It comes with kitchenette, complimentary beverages and a comfortable sitting area with flat screen TV. Wi-Fi is free and fast. There is ample complimentary parking for guests in the basement.

The buffet breakfast has a good spread of Korean and Western. Quite average in quality but good enough for an energy boost before setting off on a long day of sightseeing.

There’s a 7-11 within the hotel convenient for last minute snacks or sundry. It is also near a stretch of bars and restaurants. The Arang Jeoul food street is just 2 streets away and Cheonjiyeon Waterfall is also within walking distance.
The standard of accommodation and service standard exceeded my expectations for this mid-priced hotel. We had a really comfortable stay. Highly recommended for families with children.
